Packaging Moulds for Maximum Throughput

Packaging and consumer product companies need high-cavitation moulds that deliver consistent part quality at the lowest possible cycle times. MIR Moulds designs and manufactures packaging moulds with optimised cooling, balanced runner systems, and hot runner expertise to maximise your production output and minimise costs per part.

⏱️ Faster Cycle Times

Optimised cooling channel design, conformal cooling, and thermal management to achieve the fastest possible cycle times while maintaining part quality and dimensional stability.

◎ Multi-Cavity Production

High-cavitation moulds from 4 to 128 cavities. Balanced hot runner systems, sequential valve gating, and precision cavity machining for consistent fill across all cavities.

📈 Hot Runner Expertise

Extensive hot runner and valve gate mould experience. We work with all major hot runner brands and optimise manifold design for packaging and closure applications.

🏠 Closure & Cap Moulds

Flip-top closures, sports caps, CSD closures, tamper-evident caps, child-resistant caps, dispensing closures, and specialty pharmaceutical cap moulds.

🖵️ Thinwall Container Moulds

Ultra-thinwall containers for food, dairy, and consumer products. High L/T ratios, high injection speed compatibility, and full pack-out optimisation.

🏳 IML Mould Systems

In-Mould Labelling moulds for food containers, dairy packaging, and consumer products. Integrated with IML automation systems for seamless label placement.

Packaging Moulds — FAQ

What is the maximum cavitation you can achieve?

We manufacture packaging moulds up to 128 cavities depending on part size. High-cavitation closure moulds (64 to 128 cavities) are a speciality. We provide cavity balance validation and cpK data for all multi-cavity moulds.

Do you manufacture hot runner moulds for packaging?

Yes. Hot runner and valve gate systems are standard for high-cavitation packaging moulds. We work with all major hot runner brands and can recommend the optimal manifold system for your application.

Can you manufacture IML moulds with automation integration?

Yes. We design IML moulds for integration with leading automation systems. Mould design considers label carrier geometry, robot entry windows, cooling optimisation, and IML cycle time targets.

What materials do you use for packaging moulds?

We use premium P20, H13, S136, and 2344 tool steels. For corrosive resins or high-gloss requirements, we recommend stainless or chrome-coated cavity steels. Material selection is specified at quotation stage.
